Journeys Always Begin Somewhere

He considered which way to go and decided, “I think I’ll go down past the standing stones.” He mused, “Yes, the Thief, Mage, and Warrior stones.” He considered, “That way I can enjoy the waterfalls along the White River before arriving back in Riverwood.”

As he continued to walk down the road, he came upon some Thalmor who appeared to be searching for something or someone. He saw an Imperial scout with his two dogs with them. He considered this a moment, “Must have been assigned that thankless duty by some thoughtless commander. The Thalmor would of course use him and the dogs to assist them, but respect them, treat them as equals. No, he thought, they were no different than the Nords who cried out for a land free of any other races.”

He thought it odd though, “no one appeared to be doing anything other than meandering along the road.” He considered this, “What were they waiting for, were they actively hunting someone down?” He had decided to pass them quietly unless stopped or they asked him a question.

As he walked past them, one of them called out with a harsh tone to the other regular soldiers and Imperial scout, “What do you mean, you can’t find her? Must I do everything myself?” He continued passing the small company, he thought, “The one on the horse giving strong commands must be a Justiciar” Then one of the regular Dominion noticed him and said, “Move along, this is none of your business.”

He stopped briefly and stood there, listening to see if anything else was going to be said. He never turned around to face them. In a few short minutes, he continued walking on his way as if he was not concerned with what they were doing.

He could sense they were watching him carefully as he passed them, stood briefly, then continued towards wherever his destination was.
